Liverpool keeper is ‘ideal’ Celtic transfer option as Rangers labelled ‘tough watch’ by former Ibrox midfielder

Liverpool keeper is ‘ideal’ Celtic transfer option as Rangers labelled ‘tough watch’ by former Ibrox midfielder

The weekend saw the return of both Celtic and Rangers to domestic play, with the 10-man Hoops defeating Livingston 3-0 and the Light Blues eking out a narrow 1-0 success over Motherwell.
The number one goalkeeper for Celtic, Joe Hart, is reportedly going to be “phased out” by a Liverpool goalkeeper, and summer signings for Rangers are still not living up to the promise.

On Monday, September 25, the following were the top transfer stories involving Celtic and Rangers:

If Premier League powerhouses Liverpool agree to a deal, former Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner believes Caoimhin Kelleher may challenge seasoned goalie Joe Hart for the No. 1 job at Parkhead.

The Hoops’ first-choice goalkeeper for the past three seasons, 36-year-old Hart, was dismissed against Livingston at the weekend. He has received a lot of criticism this season for his passing with the ball at his feet.
As the former Manchester City and England player enters the latter stages of his playing career, it has led supporters to emphasize the necessity to bring in new competition. And Bonner believes that if the Reds allowed a transfer, the Irish-born player Kelleher would be the perfect fit.

They do need, in my opinion, a young goalkeeper coming through the system, Bonner remarked on BBC Sportsound. I fail to see it. They selected Scott Bain. There is (Benjamin) Siegrist, who doesn’t seem to be advancing to even take the second spot.

Therefore, they allowed Connor Hazard to travel to England, which is somewhat concerning. I believe they should have a young person as the number three really pushing through in that area. (Caoimhin) Kelleher’s planned arrival from Liverpool was discussed. From that angle, I’m not sure if Liverpool will let him go.

“Because he meets their criteria, and that would have been the perfect scenario to witness. Could he enter the game and force Joe Hart to transition into a backup goalie role? But right now, in my opinion, he’s in first place.

Kelleher, who joined the Liverpool academy in 2015, is Alisson Becker’s understudy at Anfield right now. During the summer transfer window, manager Jurgen Klopp declared that he had no plans to allow the goalkeeper go on an ongoing basis.

Caoimhin Kelleher? he asked. He has an agreement! You would like us to part ways just in case? Sincerely, I don’t think Caoimh will go. I must admit that the price must be really generous for me to consider selling him.

Rangers labelled ‘tough watch’ by former Ibrox midfielder

According to Alex Rae, Rangers fans will continue to call for Michael Beale and his players to get better, calling the team a “hard watch” at the moment.

A disgruntled home crowd expressed their displeasure at full-time with Beale admitting he had some “harsh words” with his team following the unimpressive 1-0 victory over Motherwell on Sunday.

The club’s flood of summer arrivals have not yet persuaded everyone that they are an improvement over the players that were traded away during the transfer window, which has left former Ibrox midfielder Rae worried about the lack of quality on display.

He remarked on Rangers TV: “You talk about playing through the lines, and it was a well-constructed goal. Matondo fires after Scott Wright’s beautiful first-time pass. This was the game’s determining element, which was necessary because it was a difficult watch.

“The only thing that could be said is that there were men putting their lives in danger. Although it was challenging and hard-fought, I believe Rangers supporters are yearning for more at Ibrox.
