Don Hutchison has identified Divock Origi, a striker for Nottingham Forest and a hero of Liverpool, as the ‘worst transfer’ of the current campaign.
The 28-year-old returns to the Premier League scene this summer after leaving Liverpool in 2022.
After sitting on the bench for AC Milan for a year, Divock Origi appears to have made the decision to assume that position at Nottingham Forest.
Don Hutchison quickly referred to his transfer as “pointless” and “the worst” thus far, as he stated to ESPN.
He has played four times since joining Steve Cooper’s team, all as a reserve.
He only started ten of the 36 games he played in for Milan last season before being permitted to go.
The ‘worst’ move was Divock Origi
The pointless transfer I could have chosen was Divock Origi, according to Hutchison, who hated the epithet “worst.”
“I’m not trying to be mean. He didn’t play at Milan, though. When I learned that Forest intended to purchase him. I reasoned that he wouldn’t play there, and he hasn’t.
“So, that (transfer) was a little worst come useless.”

In actuality, it’s a bad label to have and not something you want to be associated with.
But if you’re going to wear the ‘bench player’ label, you had better make the most of it, and Origi, as Liverpool supporters are all too aware, has done that very, very well.
Origi has had several unforgettable moments from the bench that the Anfield faithful will never forget, including his stoppage-time winner against Everton and his goal in the Champions League final.
But now that he is at the height of his abilities, he must put himself in a position where he is starting games more frequently.
