It appears like the Bengals will not have another opportunity to humiliate Browns quarterback Joe Flacco at Paycor Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. (Cincinnati’s Local 12).
However, in the 54-year history of “The Battle of Ohio,” this is the first time a quarterback has started a Bengals-Browns game for both sides when Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski named old buddy Jeff Driskel as his starting quarterback.
Despite throwing for two touchdowns and having a career-high 123.4 passer rating in 2018, Driskel’s Bengals fell at Cleveland, 26–18, despite starting the last five games in lieu of the injured Andy Dalton.
In the ten games that he began here with the Ravens, Flacco had a horrible experience traveling against the Bengals. With a career Paycor rating of 64.1, he only won three of them while tossing 15 interceptions to eight touchdowns.
Flacco is aware of this. As he said to Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland on Wednesday.
“I detest visiting Cincinnati. They have consistently played us hard. “Listen, I believe that during my first year, we gave them a lot of grief, but after that, they really improved quickly,” Flacco said to Grossi. “You must give those folks credit. They’ve had some excellent football teams and have defeated us in a few unique ways. They just defeated both my teams and me. They’ve defeated us on Hail Marys and fourth downs.
