Could the manager of the Braves retire in 2019? An insider claims there’s a “fair chance.”

Although the Atlanta Braves have had the same manager since 2016, things could soon change.

After his contract ends at the end of the following season, Brian Snitker, the esteemed leader of Atlanta, may be retiring, according to a story published on Wednesday by Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

“There’s a decent chance that (Snitker) will manage out his contract next year and retire after next year,” Heyman stated.

The 68-year-old Snitker has had a remarkable tenure in Atlanta, having won the World Series in 2021 after receiving National League Manager of the Year in 2018.

From 2007 until 2013, Snitker was the Braves’ third-base coach. He then took over as manager of the Gwinnett Braves, Atlanta’s Triple-A club.

In May 2016, Snitker was named the Atlanta Braves’ temporary manager, taking over for the dismissed Fredi González. In October 2016, the team announced that Snitker will take over as manager full-time, waiving his interim status.

Since then, Snitker has led the Braves to yet another prosperous period in their illustrious history.

Snitker currently hopes that the Braves, under Marcell Ozuna’s leadership, can establish themselves as a strong team in the NL Wild Card and go deep into the postseason.
