Celtics star not involved in roster decisions

The summer was very active for the Boston Celtics. From the previous season, the team lost four important players. But they also brought in Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, two All-Stars. But it appears like Jayson Tatum makes an effort to stay out of roster selections.

The Celtics forward recently admitted to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report that, like everyone else, he learned about Holiday and Porzingis via Twitter.

Tatum has previously expressed similar sentiments, most notably last summer when the Celtics were said to be interested in signing Kevin Durant. The native of St. Louis frequently expressed his wish to concentrate on basketball. However, the front office will undoubtedly consider his views on potential acquisitions. You need to keep your franchise player satisfied, after all.

Tatum, who will be in his seventh NBA season, has had notable postseason success. The All-NBA forward has advanced to the Eastern Conference finals four times since joining the league and once to the NBA Finals.

Tatum wants to start accumulating championship rings as he nears his prime. He will have the best opportunity of doing so if the Celtics add top players to their roster.

However, it is commendable to have the humility to leave those choices to the front office, which is supported by a group of scouts and data analysts. Tatum obviously has faith in the leadership of the Celtics organization.
