Notes and news on the Atlanta Braves from Friday. The Atlanta Braves have dropped their last six games for the first time since 2017. The Braves’ losing streak was prolonged and they now sit third in the NL East after their 8–4 loss to the New York Mets on Friday night. Charlie Morton began and was only in the game for 2.2 frames. Five of the seven runs he gave up were earned. Aside from two home runs by Adam Duvall and a solo shot by Marcell Ozuna, the Braves’ inability to score runs when it mattered most remained the same. After losing to 54–48, Atlanta will try to recover today with Spencer Schwellenbach starting.

The Tampa Bay Rays acquired reliever Cole Sulser from the New York Mets in exchange for cash. The 34-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Durham.

The Baltimore Orioles acquired right-hander Zach Eflin from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for three prospects. To open a roster spot, the O’s designated righty Vinny Nittoli for assignment
