The crime scene was near Hathaway Bridge in Bay County with a massive search leading authorities to their suspect.
BAY COUNTY, FL. (WTVY) -A man faces charges that he murdered a Lyft driver early Saturday morning near Panama City Beach.
“Deputies responded to find a victim in the road suffering from a gunshot wound,” Bay County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Ruth Corley said in a statement.
She did not publicly identify the man killed but said he drove for Lyft, a ride-sharing service.
Corley said deputies soon identified the suspect as passenger Brayden Raul Gomez, 17, a resident of Bay County, who faces an Open Count of Murder.
Corley said the incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. along Wildwood Road on the west side of Hathaway Bridge.
Gomez’s booking photo was not immediately available.
