Matt Hardy Could See Multiple Released WWE Superstars In AEW
Some of the individuals featured in the most recent round of WWE cuts, in Matt Hardy’s opinion, may soon become All Elite.
The firm told several prominent roster players that their services are no longer needed on September 21. The wrestling industry has speculated about upcoming AEW debuts, as has happened with numerous WWE cuts since 2020.
The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast interviewed Hardy about the releases. Hardy himself made the transition from WWE to AEW. Hardy named three people who, in his opinion, would help All Elite Wrestling:
“I could see Shelton Benjamin, Dolph Ziggler, and the three names I just stated. Mustafa Ali was visible to me. All of those guys were working there, as I could see. I must return and review the list.
Dolph Ziggler’s potential affiliation with AEW was further discussed since Hardy and co-host Jon Alba think Ziggler has the potential to regain his status as a headline performer. Ziggler and Hardy share a similar work ethic, but it can be detrimental to moving up the roster, according to Hardy:
He shares a lot of our mentalities, including mine. He’s not problematic; he’s just there, wants to do a good job, wants to go out and wrestle, break his ass. He’s also really relaxed. He is not an activist. He merely reports to work and completes his duties.
To be fair to us, it’s not a bad thing, but if you’re not always politicking, trying to get your point through, and making sure you have a pulse on the promoter and everything he’s doing as well as where you’re headed, it may also be something that holds you back in some ways. In order to keep on top of your game and ensure that something like that occurs, you sometimes have to be really interactive.
All released performers are subject to 90-day no-compete provisions, so they cannot begin working for another organization before December 20.
When Did Matt Hardy Join AEW?
In March 2020, Hardy called it a career with the WWE, leaving the organization just before the pandemic brought the world to an end. Hardy had no non-compete clause in his contract because it had expired and he had not been released, therefore he made his AEW debut two weeks later.

Angle was questioned by co-host Paul Bromwell if, while injured, he preferred competing in multiple-man contests. In order to safeguard his health, Angle said he thought IMPACT could have done a better job of booking him in more tag team situations. When he was injured, he was frequently scheduled in tag matches at house shows and live events by WWE, which he contrasted to IMPACT’s strategy.

Angle believes that it is the booker’s obligation to recognize when a wrestler is injured and modify their booking accordingly. He said that it shouldn’t be the responsibility of injured wrestlers to request tag matches.
As a booker, I believe you should be aware of “Okay. Kurt has several minor injuries. Why not temporarily place him in some tag matches? Consequently, I believe the booker should be held accountable. It’s not my responsibility to step forward and declare, “Hey, I’m hurt.” Place me in some tag competitions. I believe the booker has a duty to take care of things; it is his duty.
Despite the physical strain, Angle’s adaptability and resiliency allowed him to keep giving standout performances throughout his career. Angle has a long record of injuries, and most recently he acknowledged that he may soon need to have surgery to replace his shoulder.
