Tuesday night, during the Edmonton Oilers’ 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, forward Evander Kane suffered a terrifying injury after being slashed on the left wrist by a skate blade.

During the second period, Kane collided with Lightning defenseman Philippe Myers just inside the Edmonton zone. While on the ice, Kane was sliced by Tampa Bay forward Pat Maroon’s skate blade.
Lightning head coach Jon Cooper stated, “You cringe when you see that.” It was difficult to see. Since you compete against one another in hockey, perhaps he’ll be okay. Despite the battle, we remain a family.
Kane hurried to the bench, grasped the lacerated region with his right hand, and made his way to the locker room.
