Arsenal has been informed that should they not win the Premier League within the next three years, Manchester City may try to sign Bukayo Saka. Saka is possibly the best player the Gunners have produced in recent memory, having developed into one of the best wingers in the division over the past few seasons.
Saka has long been said to have piqued the interest of City, but they have not made any moves to sign him, and it is unlikely that Arsenal would sell him to their Premier League rivals at any price. But Kieran Richardson, a childhood Arsenal supporter who was once a winger for Manchester United, thinks Saka will start looking elsewhere if the Gunners are unable to win a top flight championship.
“I think he’ll go to City if he does leave the club,” Richardson said in an exclusive interview with Ladbrokes Fanzone. It appears to be the ideal fit for him. Even though I don’t want him to leave, it’s evident that they lost a few players over the summer, Riyad Mahrez among them. Saka appears to be a perfect fit for it, if
“Well, my wish is that he never has to go there and that Arsenal wins the Premier League, eliminating any need or motivation for him to visit there. However, a player of that caliber needs to be winning. Harry Kane, for example, left Spurs in order to pursue his dream of winning a championship, even if it was in Germany.
“I just have a feeling Saka will be looking to move if we don’t win the trophy in the next three years. He should be, why not? He is the type of player who ought to have won three or four Premier League titles by the end of his career.”
Saka signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal earlier this year, so he is committed to the north London team through the summer of 2027. It is unclear, though, if he will ultimately decide to move to City in an effort to win Premier League titles in the future.
Phil Foden, a playmaker for City, recently praised Saka for his work ethic after the two helped England qualify for Euro 2024 during the international break. If and when City decide to reaffirm their interest in the not-too-distant future, only time will tell if Foden can persuade his international teammate to join him at the Etihad Stadium.
