A US lady was sentenced for aiding in her mother’s murder and concealing her remains in a bag while on vacation in Bali.

A 26-year-old American lady was sentenced to 26 years in prison in Chicago after entering a guilty plea to aiding in the murder of her own mother and concealing the corpse in a suitcase while on a lavish vacation in Bali.
Heather Mack was urged by federal prosecutors to serve 28 years in prison for her role in her boyfriend’s 2014 plot to assassinate Sheila von Wiese-Mack.
According to Michael Leonard, Mack’s attorney, the 28-year-old will likely serve 20 years in jail, with good behavior credits offered to all federal inmates.

Mack sobbed as she apologized to her mother’s siblings before her punishment was given out today.”It breaks my heart, hearing you cry,” she said to Wiese-Mack’s sister and aunt, Debbi Curran, whose daughter had given a victim impact statement on Curran’s behalf and had started crying uncontrollably.
“There’s no excuse for trying to harm her,” Mack stated.
“I miss and love my mother.”
Witness evidence was given today by Mack’s uncle, Bill Wiese, and Wiese-Mack’s brother.
Citing Mack’s lack of contrition, he requested Judge Matthew Kennelly to impose the maximum punishment.
“If it were up to me, Heather would spend the rest of her life behind bars,” Wiese said.
Later on, he noted that Mack’s apologies in court was the first time he had heard her express regret.

Mack declared, “There’s no justification for attempting to hurt her.”

Today, Wiese-Mack’s brother and Mack’s uncle, Bill Wiese, provided witness testimony.
Citing Mack’s lack of remorse, he asked Judge Matthew Kennelly to apply the worst penalty possible.
“If it were up to me, Heather would spend the rest of her life behind bars,” Wiese said.
He later said that he had never heard Mack show sorrow until she apologized in court.

The daughter’s guardian recently made the decision to inform the youngster the “difficult truth” about her parents, according to a statement delivered by a different relative. The guardian then held the girl while she sobbed.
