Pittsburgh According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Kansas City Chiefs are signing former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Chris Oladokun to a future/reserve contract, bringing him back for a third season after back-to-back Super Bowl runs.
Despite being a seventh-round pick by the Steelers in 2022, Oladokun did not make the team during his rookie campaign. After the organization re-signed Mason Rudolph before OTAs, he was never really given a chance to contend for a roster berth. Once Rudolph, Mitch Trubisky, and Kenny Pickett entered the room, it was apparent who quarterbacks Pittsburgh would stick with. Not even 48 hours after the 49ers’ devastating Super Bowl loss, they are experiencing conflict.
Initially, Brandon Aiyuk hinted on social media that he might not play for the 49ers again the next season and that, in the event that they don’t extend his contract, he might want to be traded. Subsequently, his brother and girlfriend shared Aiyuk’s thoughts on social media.
Aiyuk is so dissatisfied, and he has every right to be, given he performed admirably inAiyuk is therefore angry, and rightfully so, as he performed admirably in the Super Bowl and was given just six targets—a slap in the face. As long as he plays for Kyle Shanahan, he will never get as many targets as he deserves. You can bet that Aiyuk would get the ball considerably more frequently if he were an Andy Reid player. Subsequently, Jon Feliciano insulted offensive lineman Spencer Burford on Twitter in an attempt to uphold Colton McKivitz’s honor. You know, some random idiot tweeted that the 49ers’ last offensive play was blown apart because of pressure from McKivitz. In response to the tweet, Feliciano decided to let everyone know that Spencer Burford, not McKivitz, was the real offender. Burford, who didn’t deserve that public treatment from a teammate, received an apology from Feliciano later. Feliciano ought to have spoken up to Burford directly or kept his lips shut if he had anything to say. After heartbreaking defeats, teams are meant to stick together. Idle hands don’t stick together. Those who lose point fingers at one another. And the 49ers will remain elite losers until they actually win a Super Bowl.
